The Kinston Promise Parent University is encouraging parents to spend quality time with children during the summer months. Each week of Camp Promise provides for parent-child activities to do over the weekend.
On Thursday, July 7, Kinston Parent University Director, Lillie Williams sent home a parent newsletter stressing the importance of parent involvement in their child's education.
The newsletter offer suggestions on how to spend the summer including library visits; outdoor concerts, family dinner and barbecues and more.
Students were given a bag of microwave popcorn to take home and enjoy while sharing time with their parents.
Other parent./family engagement activities include a Journal Writing and Parent/Child Coloring Project.
